Meanwhile, rivets have maintained their relevance all these centuries for their simple yet effective functionality. Primarily, there are five types of rivets; solid rivets, tubular rivets, semi-tubular rivets, blind rivets, and drive screw rivets. Each type has its particular uses, strengths, and application methods.

Solid rivets are traditional rivets employed since the Bronze Age. Thanks to their strong but ductile nature, they can withstand heavy loads. Meanwhile, tubular rivets get their name from the holes running down their shafts, reducing the force required to set them. On the other hand, semi-tubular rivets require less driving energy owing to their partially hollow shanks.


Then we have blind rivets, also known as pop rivets. Their advantageous feature is that they only need access from one side for installation, making them ideal for closed-in spaces. Lastly, drive screw rivets resemble a short screw without threaded bodies. They offer a neat finish without requiring advanced skills or specialized equipment.
